Multicultural Event at the Church of God in the Bronx

On May 26, 2024, university students from the Church of God in the Bronx held a multicultural event to celebrate unity and diversity. Around one hundred guests attended, including students and professors from universities such as Monroe College, Stony Brook University, and Westchester Community College.

The event featured an airport theme, with guides dressed as flight attendants and hosts as the pilot and first officer. Guests visited eight stations, each representing a different country: Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, France, Jamaica, Vietnam, and South Korea. At each station, they sampled signature cuisines, experiencing the rich flavors and cultural heritage of each nation. The event concluded with a performance of songs and dances from various countries, ending with a flash flag dance to a song composed by Church of God members.

George Mubita, the Dean of Technology at Monroe College, attended with his family. He shared his appreciation for the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Church of God. University student Gionna Mon’e admired the beautiful performance and complimented the efforts of the students in preparing this event.

Another university student, Breimar Cruz, shared, “I was most impressed by the unity among all church members, regardless of age group.” He said, “It reminded me of the words in Psalm 133, where it says God is pleased with unity among spiritual brothers and sisters and grants blessing there. I truly felt the joy and blessing of God today.”
