ASEZ WAO Volunteers Carry Out Green Earth Campaign on Webster Avenue

On January 28, as part of their worldwide Green Earth Campaign, 130 ASEZ WAO volunteers took action on Webster Avenue. The purpose of this initiative is to beautify the environment and raise awareness about the threat of pollution and climate change. For this cleanup, ASEZ WAO partnered with the office of Bronx Borough President, Vanessa Gibson. Thinking of the motto “one step of ten people is more valuable than ten steps of one person,” ASEZ WAO volunteers worked in unity. Volunteers not only came from the Bronx, but also traveled from Brooklyn, Long Island and New Jersey. Additionally, six cultural exchange volunteers visiting from South Korea also participated.

We Are One Family

ASEZ WAO stands for “Save the Earth from A to Z” and “We Are One Family.” This group of young working adult volunteers who are active in 175 countries across 6 continents to “save the earth.” The volunteers began the day with a brief presentation to refresh themselves on the steps to achieving global climate stability.

“We hope this enthusiasm spreads so more people can become an agent of change for our environment,” said local volunteer Nelcy Liquet. “Despite all the effort, the outcome that is the most rewarding—we can surely shape a brighter future.”

After an inspiring chant, despite the rain, volunteers headed outside and collected over 100 bags of trash from the area of 204th street to Parkside place. Afterwards, they prepared it for pickup by the NYC Department of Sanitation.

ASEZ WAO Green Earth Campaign

ASEZ WAO has been taking the lead through regular street cleanups in the Bronx since 2017. They have specifically been carrying out the Green Earth Campaign on Webster Avenue and surrounding streets. As a result of their efforts, it has led to the environmental preservation of the terrestrial ecosystems which are at risk from climate change and pollution. In fact, the Green Earth Campaign, is being carried out worldwide. ASEZ WAO believes these consistent efforts will surely shape a brighter future as they strive to protect life on land.
