On July 25, 2024, ASEZ STAR, a volunteer group of middle school and high school students, showed their commitment to combating climate change. The cleanup took place at Kossuth Playground and along Mosholu Parkway in the Bronx, New York. Around 20 student volunteers gathered, and together they collected 15 bags of trash. This initiative was part of ASEZ STAR’s Green World Project, which encourages sustainability and awareness on a global scale.
Students Take a Stand Against Climate Change
Through these efforts, ASEZ STAR instills a sense of environmental responsibility and leadership among the youth. High school senior Jasmin Rodriguez said, “Even though the weather was hot, the ASEZ STAR members were able to endure and work in unity, shining God’s glory.”
Another high school student, Melany Rodriguez, added, “It makes me feel happier that the park is cleaner because more people will feel happier to come here and spend time with their family.”
The cleanup at Kossuth Playground and Mosholu Parkway demonstrated the impact students can have when they work together. Their efforts are setting a strong example for others and making a real difference in the community.
